The AMEE PhD/Doctoral Awards encourage and award investigators who have conducted high quality research in the area of health professions education.

How to Apply

To apply for the award please submit a full thesis for review by a panel of judges. Successful submissions will be invited to present at an upcoming AMEE Conference. To submit your thesis, submit your abstract for the upcoming AMEE conference in the PhD/Doctoral Award category.

Abstract submissions for the 2023 PhD/Doctoral Award have now closed. Information about the 2024 award will be available early next year.

Award Criteria

All applications for the award will be judged against the following criteria:

  • A highly ranked PhD/Doctoral report abstract
  • A high quality full PhD thesis/Doctoral Report
  • A clear presentation at the AMEE Conference
