Who should attend? All are welcome! If you've ever wondered what the programme committee do, what reviewers look for in an abstract or even if you have never been to an AMEE conference and are simply curious to see what all the fuss is about, this is your chance to find out.
Theme: In this webinar we'll share how we identify 'hot topics' in health professions education, how we use delegate feedback to improve year-on-year, and what happens to abstracts between submission and acceptance. There will also be the opportunity for you to tell us what you think of the conference and what you'd like to see more of.
Speaker bios:
Dr Anne Lloyd joined AMEE from the European Society for Medical Oncology, where she held the position of Head of Digital Education & Practice Resources and had responsibility for the development and implementation of the digital content strategy. Prior to that she spent more than 25 years working in the commercial medical journals industry for Elsevier Ltd. From 2009 to 2020 she was a Publishing Director in the Health & Medical Sciences Division, working successfully with numerous medical Societies to acquire and publish their journals. She is an experience Charity Trustee and is currently on the Board of Charity Mentors, Oxford.
Leila Niemi-Murola has been involved with many different aspects of AMEE since attending her first AMEE conference in 2002. Leila was one of the first Associate Fellows and was appointed as a member of the Postgraduate Committee in 2020. For the past 10 years Leila has been an abstract reviewer and chair of short communications sessions at the AMEE Conference and was a member of the Local Organising Committee for AMEE 2017 in Helsinki.
Leila's other main international roles include chairing the Programme Committee of the Finnish Medical Congress for 6 years, chairing the Educational Committee of the Scandinavian Society for Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (2011-2015) and chairing the e-Learning Committee of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (2018, 2019 and 2020). Leila also has a Masters in Medical Education form the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm.
