The AMEE Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Committee

Purpose of the committee

The purpose of the AMEE Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Committee (PSQI) is to build a collaborative and welcoming international consortium of healthcare educators, who promote the improvement of patient care through the guidance of patient safety and quality education for healthcare students and the continuing PSQI education of healthcare professionals.

We aim to promote scholarship, notable education practices, and encourage the exchange of ideas across contexts, disciplines, specialties and the continuum of patient safety and quality improvement education.

PSQI Committee goals

  • Support strategic direction for patient safety and quality improvement education initiatives within AMEE
  • Support PS/QI activity at the annual AMEE conference
  • Promote PS/QI education scholarship
  • Developing cross-functional partnerships with other AMEE committees and interest groups
  • Represent the patient safety and quality improvement community to AMEE leadership
  • Attract PS/QI education professionals and leaders to AMEE through strategic initiatives
