AMEE Continuing Professional Development Committee (CPD-C) - Call for New Members
About Committee
The AMEE Continuing Professional Development Committee (CPD-C) is seeking nominations for new members to join the committee on the 1st of August 2024.
Continuing professional development/continuing education (CPD/CE) refers to the process of ongoing, lifelong learning to maintain competence, licensure and/or certification. CPD/CE encompasses the period of time a health professional is in practice following the completion of their formal training.

Members are chosen based on the needs of the CPD-C and based on the following attributes:
- Members of the CPD-C will mirror the membership of the larger AMEE CPD community.
- Members of the CPD-C may act as liaisons with other organisations to advance the mission of the CPD-C.
- Members of the CPD-C will represent a diversity of professions (interprofessional).
- Members of the CPD-C must hold an active AMEE Individual membership.
- Members of the CPD-C must be actively involved in CPD and meet at least one of the categories outlined below:
- An individual who currently holds (min. of 2 years of experience) a position in the CPD field in positions that may include, but are not limited to: administrator, director, researcher, provider, regulator or similar position; OR
- An individual who has made significant contribution to the CPD field in positions that may include, but are not limited to: administrator, director, researcher, provider, regulator or similar position; OR
- An individual who has less than 5 years of experience as a health care professional educator (ex. Clinical faculty).
Successful applicants will be recommended by the current CPD-C members and confirmed by the AMEE Governing Committee for a term of three (3) years, with the option of re-appointment for a maximum of six (6) years or two (2) terms.
The profile sheet of the CPD-C includes information on committee composition, responsibilities, terms of office, time commitment and any specific member requirements.
As part of the application process, you will be asked to provide the following:
- A personal statement (limit 250 words; description of how you will contribute to the work and mission of the CPD-C).
- A Curriculum Vitae including any links to social network profiles, publications and your professional organisation (PDF format – max. 2 pages).
- Optional – up to two (2) letters of endorsement in regard your CPD involvement, experience and competence in a PDF format.

The CPD-C will review and prioritise nominations. The nominations will then be forwarded to the AMEE Governing Committee for appointments to be determined. Notification will be mailed to nominees no later than June 2024.
