A Certificate of attendance for the main conference (25-28 August 2019) and at pre-conference workshops ONLY will be provided.  These will be emailed to delegates via Worldspan within 2 weeks of the close of the conference.

If you have specific certificate requirements, please request this onsite at the AMEE Registration Desk or by email ([email protected]) and your request will be actioned after the conference.  Please note that it may not be possible to meet some requests.



Registered participants may take children into all conference sessions except workshops if it is not possible to make alternative arrangements for their care. Children must be accompanied at all times, and participants are kindly asked to take them out of sessions if they become disruptive.

Children should not be left unaccompanied at any time at the Austria Center Vienna

The student taskforce are unable to supervise any children during the conference. Participants are requested to arrange their own childcare.


Credits are being requested from the UK Royal Colleges for full attendance at the main conference (25-28 August 2019).

A register of attendance will be available to those who wish to claim for their attendance at the main conference registration desk for signing at coffee break Wednesday 28 August.  Certificates confirming CME credits will be emailed within 2 weeks of the close of the conference.

You can make cash withdrawals from Bankomat ATMs in Austria at any time of day or night using Austrian or foreign Maestro cards. Credit cards
Credit cards are accepted at the vast majority of hotels, restaurants, shops and filling stations. To find out whether your credit card is accepted, please check the logos on display at the entrance to the premises before attempting to make a payment.

Tips are normally given in many service industries. It is customary to tip bar and restaurant staff, taxi drivers, hairdressers and filling station attendants. As a rule of thumb between five and ten percent should be given, depending on how satisfied you are with the service.

Smoking is generally not allowed in the usual places, namely schools, workplaces, airports, museums, hospitals, shopping malls, stores, inside public buildings, theatres, cinemas, petrol stations, etc. with some rare exceptions (like dedicated smoking rooms in an office complex).

All conference locations being used by AMEE will be strictly no smoking.



The weather in Vienna is typical continental - there are characteristic, clearly defined seasons. Hot summers with an occasional day of rain and the cold winters mean that the "right" clothing is essential. The temperature is pleasant in the spring and autumn, but there can be a cool wind to chill the air.
