Some Frequently Asked Questions about Registration

  • Online registration will commence in January 2019
  • Register by 25 May 2018 and take advantage of reduced registration fees.
  • You can pay your registration fees by bank transfer simply by registering and opting to pay by invoice.
  • Invite letters cannot be issued until registration has been completed.
  • To request an invite letter to facilitate a visa request - register online and select the option for requesting an invite or contact [email protected]
  • If you have any queries regarding registration please contact [email protected]
  • If you wish to register and make payment onsite, please contact [email protected] to make arrangements, please do not register online
  • All abstract presenters must by registered by 1 June otherwise the accepted presentation will be removed from the programme.

Some Frequently Asked Questions about Abstract Submission

  • The online abstract submission site will open December 2018
  • Research papers  Deadline: 5 December 2018.  Submitters are notified of decisions by early January
  • Doctoral reports Deadline:  14 December 2018.  Submitters are notified of decisions by early January
  • Short Communications, Patil Teaching Innovation Award, Posters, Fringe, PechaKucha 20x20(TM), Point of View, Round Table and Conference Workshops must be received by 6 February 2019 (MIDNIGHT UK TIME). Submitters of these are notified of decisions by end April.
  • References are not included in the word count for research and doctoral report submissions.
  • Anyone can submit an abstract, and you do not have to be an AMEE Member.
  • You must submit your own abstract submissions
  • You may submit any number of abstracts, but it is unlikely that a presenter will be able to make more than one presentation.
  • You may be a co-author on as many abstracts as you wish.
  • All abstracts should be a maximum of 350 words for short communications, posters, patil teaching innovation awards, and conference workshops; a maximum of 300 words for PechaKucha, Round Table and point of view and maximum of 525 words, excluding references (up to 2) for research and doctoral report submissions. If you submit an abstract that is too long, the submission will be unsuccessful.
  • Please refer to the AMEE 2019 abstracts page for details about abstract submission and to see the structure you should use for each type of paper.
  • You may list up to 6 authors (10 for Research and Doctoral Reports). Please DO NOT include titles/degrees/qualifications.
  • You may list only one presenter for short communication, poster, research, Doctoral reports, PechaKucha, point of view, round table, fringe submissions, patil teaching innovation awards and up to 6 presenters for conference workshops.
  • You will be given the option to review your abstract before you submit. Please ensure the abstract is accurate before you submit. Your abstract will remain listed as incomplete until you hit the submit button.
  • Please don’t forget to click on the ‘Submit’ button right at the bottom of the page in order to make sure your abstract is received by us.
  • All successfully submitted abstracts will receive an automatic email confirmation. If you don’t receive a confirmation in your mailbox, please check your junk mail box to make sure it has not been trapped by your institution’s spam filter. You can login to your account and view your abstract submissions. If your abstract is not listed then it is likely we have not received it. If you are unsure, please contact us [email protected].
  • Abstract decisions will be announced by end April. It is unlikely that more than one abstract per presenter will be accepted.
  • We are unable to tell you the exact time of your presentation until 8 weeks before the conference and we are unable to meet specific presentation date requirements.
