Most of the concepts or frameworks that we have employed in health professions education in Asia are mainly coming from the Western regions. Some are successful while some are not due to context, values and cultural differences. Values and culture have been embedded in the daily life of teachers, administrators, leaders, students and the organisation and need to be considered during attempts to implement best practices in medical and health professions education. We will share a few case studies and strategies to mitigate the problems that we encountered in implementing these initiatives.
