Summary:
The design of continuing professional development events is often very traditional, consisting of lectures and group work. Practical learning goals enforce learning and they should include multiple levels of Bloom’s taxonomy. If the intended learning outcomes emphasize only the lower levels of Bloom’s taxonomy, namely acquisition of knowledge, use of traditional methods might be appropriate. Designing educational events based on competencies starts by defining the intended learning outcomes and aligning the instructional methods and assessment accordingly. In this workshop, the emphasis will be on constructing educational events based on different competencies
