Courses

The following courses will be offered at AMEE 2021

AMEE-ESME Courses, accredited by AMEE - Completion of an AMEE-ESME Course inlcuding post-course report will lead to 1 credit towards the AMEE Specialist Certificate in Medical Education.

Courses will be conducted using a flipped classroom model, with resources available to review in advance of the course on the Moodle platform. A mix of synchronous and asynchronous activities will be used. Contact times given are for live sessions and will be conducted in Zoom rooms with breakouts as requested by faculty. All times are UK. Please check the time in your local setting before booking.
 

AMEE 2021 ESME Courses

Courses:

  • Essential Skills in Medical Education (ESME): Teaching skills course for those either new to teaching, or with some experience who wish to undertake some formal training.
  • Essential Skills in Continuing Education & Professional Development (ESCPD): For those currently involved in the planning, organization and/or implementation of medical/health education at the continuing professional development level.
  • Essential Skills in Medical Education Clinical Teaching (ESMECT): Aimed at clinicians who teach medical students and junior doctors in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, focussing on core topics in clinical teaching.
  • Essential Skills in Medical Education Assessment (ESMEA): Aimed at educators in the health professions who have limited experience in assessment and wish to gain an insight into practical applications. It is also relevant to others who already have an interest in assessment and wish to gain a foundation in the theoretical underpinnings.
  • Essential Skills in Educational Leadership & Management (ESMELead):  An introduction to key aspects of leadership and management for healthcare educators who want a deeper understanding of theory and to gain an evidence base to help them become more effective leaders.

How to Register

Wherever possible courses should be reserved and paid at the time of registration. Places are strictly limited and allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Payment for courses is required prior to attendance.

It is not possible to register for courses only.  Course participants must register for AMEE 2021 and pay the conference fee.

  • AMEE 2021 ESME Assessment Course (Fri 27 Aug 0900-1200; Sat 28 Aug 0900-1200) - £400
  • AMEE 2021 ESME Continuing Education & Professional Development Course (Tues 24 Aug 1200-1330; Wed 25 Aug 1200-1500; Wed 1 Sept 1200-1500; Tue 5th Oct 1200-1330) - £400
  • AMEE 2021 ESME Clinical Teaching Course (Thurs 26 Aug 1330-1500; Fri 27 Aug 1330-1630; Sat 28 Aug 1000-1300. An additional reflection and assignment session will be arranged approximately 4 weeks post-conference.) - £400
  • AMEE 2021 ESME Leadership and Management Course (Thurs 26 Aug 1000-1300; Fri 27 Aug 1000-1300; Tues 31 Aug 1000-1300; Wed 1 Sept 1000-1300) - £400

Cancellations:  Requests to cancel should be emailed to Worldspan ([email protected]).  AMEE will make every effort to resell your place on a course but cannot guarantee a refund will be possible.  No refunds will be given for non-attendance at courses
