All presentations (except preconference workshops and the opening plenary session) will take place between the hours of 0800 CET on Monday 29 August and 1400 on Wednesday 31 August. Presenters are asked to be available at all times as, due to the complexities of the programme, it is not possible to meet specific requests for presentation times.

Presentations have been accepted according to the presenter’s request to present either face-to-face in Lyon, or online. Presenters are asked to:

  • Contact [email protected] by 23 May to confirm they accept the presentation offered in the email sent on 28/29 April.
  • Register for AMEE 2022 either in person in Lyon or online as indicated on the acceptance email, and pay the appropriate registration fee. Earlybird registration ends on 31 May. All presenters should register by 20 June in order to ensure their presentation is included in the programme.

Those presenting face-to-face in Lyon will have the opportunity to try out their presentation in the Speaker Ready room at Lyon Congress Centre. Those presenting online will be invited to rehearsals to familiarise themselves with the presentation platform. ePoster presenters will be invited to webinars to help them build their eposters on the ePoster Showcase. 

Preconference workshop – face-to-face in Lyon

3-hour interactive ‘Masterclass’ session, intended to give practical tips on a topical issue in health professions education, and suggestions for implementation in the participants’ own context. All participants and presenters to be in Lyon. Organisers will be contacted to discuss requirements, which we will try to meet. Sessions will not be streamed or recorded.

Preconference workshop – online

Symposium – face-to-face in Lyon

90 minute session on a theme of topical interest or debate in health professions education. Presentations from panellists to take no more than 45 minutes, with remaining time for discussion; maximum 5 panellists one of whom should be the moderator. All presenters to be in Lyon. Sessions will also be live streamed to the online audience who can ask questions and join in the discussion. Recordings will be available for later viewing.

Conference workshop – face-to-face in Lyon

90 minute interactive workshop on an aspect of health professions education. All participants and presenters will be in Lyon and sessions will not be streamed or recorded. Organisers will be contacted to discuss requirements, which we will try to meet.

Conference workshop – online

90 minute interactive workshop on an aspect of health professions education. Workshops will take place in Zoom rooms with the opportunity for breakouts. Online workshops are intended for online participants only, and presenters will also be online. Sessions will not be streamed or recorded. Organisers will be contacted to discuss requirements, which we will try to meet.

Research paper – face-to-face in Lyon 

15 minute presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions and discussion. 4 presentations in a themed session of 90 minutes. All presenters to be on site in Lyon (with the exception of one session to accommodate remote presentations). Sessions will be live streamed to the online audience who can ask questions and join in the discussion. Recordings will be available for later viewing.

Doctoral report – face-to-face in Lyon

15 minute presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions and discussion. 3 presentations in a themed session of 90 minutes, to allow longer for discussion. All presenters to be on site in Lyon. Sessions will not be streamed or recorded.

Patil Innovation Report – face-to-face in Lyon

10 minute presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions and discussion. 6 presentations in a themed session of 90 minutes. All presenters to be on site in Lyon, with a panel of assessors to select the winning presentation. Sessions will not be streamed or recorded.

AMEE Fringe – face-to-face in Lyon 

15 minute presentation which may take any format. All presenters to be on site in Lyon. Presenters will be contacted to discuss their intended presentation. Sessions will not be streamed or recorded.

PechaKucha™ - face-to-face in Lyon

The PechaKucha™ 20x20 format consists of 20 slides, each of which is set to advance automatically after 20 seconds, giving presenters limited time to talk about each slide. Total presentation time is 6 minutes and 40 seconds. 5 minutes is allowed for questions and discussion. Session to be led by a moderator. All presenters to be on site in Lyon. Sessions will not be streamed or recorded.

Point of view – face-to-face in Lyon

7 minute presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions and discussion either with or without audio-visual aids. Up to 7 presentations in a 90 minute session with a moderator. A ‘soapbox’ style presentation where presenters can communicate their opinion on any topic related to health professions education and discuss with the audience. All presenters to be on site in Lyon. Sessions will not be streamed or recorded.

Short communication – face-to-face in Lyon 

10 minute presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions and discussion. Up to 6 presentations in a themed session of 90 minutes with a moderator. All presenters to be on site in Lyon. Sessions will not be streamed or recorded.

Short communication – online 

10 minute presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions and discussion. Up to 6 presentations in a themed session of 90 minutes. All participants and presenters to be online. Sessions will take place in Zoom rooms and will be recorded for later viewing.

Short communication on demand (SCOD)

Short communications on demand will not be presented live in the programme. Further details will be sent as to how the presentation can be recorded and submitted for upload to the conference platform for access at any time by participants. They will be appropriately tagged for ease of access.

ePoster – face-to-face in Lyon 

3 minute introduction to the poster followed by 3 minutes for questions and discussion. Up to 15 presentations in a themed session of 90 minutes. Presenters and participants will all be in Lyon and sessions will not be streamed or recorded. All ePosters are hosted in the ePoster Showcase on the Kubify platform and can be viewed at any time by conference participants. 

ePoster – online 

3 minute introduction to the poster followed by 3 minutes for questions and discussion. Up to 15 presentations in a themed session of 90 minutes. Presenters and participants will be online in Zoom rooms. Sessions will be recorded for later viewing. ePoster on demand (EPOD)

ePosters on demand will not be presented live in the programme. They will be built and uploaded to the ePoster Showcase on the Kubify platform and can be viewed at any time by conference participants. They will be appropriately tagged for ease of access.

Round Table Discussion – face-to-face in Lyon

Exploration of a specific topic of current interest in health professions education. The presenter will introduce her/his perspective of the topic in 5 minutes and then invite others attending to contribute to the discussion that follows, to pool expertise. These are participatory sessions where all are expected to contribute. Presenters and participants will all be in Lyon and sessions will not be streamed or recorded.

Meet the Expert – face-to-face in Lyon

An opportunity to meet with an expert in a specific area of health professions education, in a small group. Experts and participants will all be in Lyon and sessions will not be streamed or recorded.

Presenters can see their abstracts by logging into the Smart Submissions platform. Editing abstracts is no longer possible. Any requests to edit abstracts should be sent to [email protected]
