This course equips you with essential skills for effective teaching in health professions education.

Drawing from your own experiences as both teacher and learner, you’ll gain a solid grounding in educational principles and a suite of tools to enhance your teaching practice.

Programme

  • Monthly facilitated webinar sessions, where you can connect with like-mindedpeers and engage in rich discussions under the guidance of a highly experiencedprofessional.
  • Asynchronous online learning modules: Self-directed and self-paced learningresources accessible at any time via the AMEE eLearning hub.
  • Final assignment: Demonstrate your understanding of course concepts by applying them directly to your work and on successful completion, gain an ESME Certificatein Health Professions Education.

Course details

Courses run on Tuesdays, at 12:30pm – 2pm UK time, for 90 minutes.

Dates:

  • 21 April 2026: Welcome and course introduction
  • 19 May 2026: Guided discussions and ability to discuss your queries.
  • 23 June 2026: Guided discussions and ability to discuss your queries.
  • 21 July 2026: Course wrap up and guidance on completing final assignment.

Assignment submission: Due by 31 August 2026.
Time commitment:

  • 3 hours per week online learning and reflection (this is a guide, the material is self-paced)
  • c6 hours for assignment preparation.
