Learning from leadership failures: Pitfalls and lessons learned

About the module

Leadership is never straightforward. It is how leaders cope with challenges, setbacks and ‘failures’ that often defines them, their reputation and legacy.

Whilst stimulating change and improvement is a key part of leadership, even small changes can have a major impact on individuals, teams, cultures, and organisations.

In this module, we explore some common leadership challenges at each of these levels, consider what ‘failure’ is and how we can pre-empt it, avoid and learn from setbacks.

As we go through the units, we provide a range of concepts and ideas and ask you to reflect on the impact of cultural factors and your own responses to challenges and setbacks.
