About the module

In Module 3, we shift our attention from the curriculum to the learners, looking at the basic principles underpinning effective teaching and learning and different ways of facilitating learning in various contexts. By the end of this module, you should be able to:
  • Explain the importance of context and the ‘learning environment’
  • Describe activities that stimulate and support learning in the academic and clinical setting, including:
    1. Large group teaching and lecturing
    2. Facilitating small groups
    3. Supporting independent learning
    4. Technology enhanced learning & simulation
    5. Workplace based learning
  • Choose an appropriate learning activity to achieve a given learning outcome
