The AMEE Conference will take place from 22 August 2026 to 26 August 2026 in Vienna, Austria.

Registration can be completed online.

Early bird registration is available until 31st May 2026, offering discounted rates.

Yes, we are offering online attendance options to accommodate those who cannot join us in person.

Online attendees will have access to live streams of plenary sessions, a selection of symposia and research paper sessions and dedicated short communication sessions.

Online delegates can participate in Q&A and networking activities online.

We understand that funding can be a challenge for many delegates and we are committed to supporting attendance at the conference.

For AMEE 2026, we will once again offer a limited number of free or reduced-cost registrations for AMEE Members whose presentations have been accepted as a short communication or ePoster (InPerson or Online)

Abstract decisions will be announced at the end of April 2026.

At that time, details about the application process and the policy for awarding registration support will also be made available.

Please note that while registration support is available, delegates will need to arrange their own travel and accommodation.

Yes, we welcome submissions for a variety of session types, full details including submission deadlines and notification dates can be found on our abstracts submission pages.

Abstract selection involves a rigorous multi-step review process. Each submission is reviewed by a minimum of 3 reviewers and final selection is by the Theme/Track Committee reviewers, with oversight and final decision agreed by the Programme Committee.

Abstracts are selected based on the following criteria:

  • Quality and relevance to ensure alignment with AMEE’s Educational Themes or Tracks.
  • Presenter diversity, emphasising representation from various institutions and global regions.
  • Fairness and transparency in the assessment process to uphold the integrity of the review.
