Ian Hart Award for Innovation in Medical Education 2026

Professor Samar Aboulsoud collects the Ian Hart Award award

Our Mission at AMEE is to promote and inspire excellence, collaboration, and scholarship across the continuum of Health Professions Education.

Every year, we celebrate educators whose work is shaping the future of healthcare education through a range of awards that recognise outstanding achievement and impact.

The Ian Hart Award for Innovation in Medical Education is made in memory of the late Ian Ritchie Hart, who was a leader in medical education with an international reputation.

He made a significant contribution to advancing medical education in Canada, including founding the Canadian Association for Medical Education (CAME).

He also played a major role internationally in advancing approaches to the training of doctors.

The award recognises individuals who have made an exceptional contribution internationally to undergraduate, postgraduate and/or continuing medical education.

We are excited to share the winner of the Ian Hart Award for Innovation in Medical Education 2026
