The AMEE Faculty Development Committee is interested in promoting research in Faculty Development. With a budget of £7,000, the committee anticipates funding one grant in 2025. Either the Principal Investigator or one of the Associated Investigators must hold an AMEE Individual membership at the time of application. Program development and evaluation proposals will be excluded.

Completed forms should be submitted by 11 April 2025 (Midnight, UK Time).

Tips to review before completing your detailed proposal:

Background (Problem statement/Topic/Issues of concern and relevance)

• To what extent is there a scientific problem that is addressed in the research?
• To what extent does the research add to our current knowledge in the field?
• How does it add to the discourse in the scientific field?
• Is the knowledge gained by the research locally relevant only or is it useful for the wider scientific community?

Theoretical or conceptual framework

• Is it either a project aimed at testing newly developed theories, re-testing established theories, or aimed at developing new theories?
• Is there an appropriate review of relevant research literature and theoretical or conceptual frameworks?

Hypothesis/research questions

• Is there a clearly defined and researchable research question(s) and/or hypothesis?

Study methods/research design

• Are the data collection and analysis methodology demonstrating the ones most suited to answer the research questions?

Practical and theoretical significance of topic

• Is the project innovative, out-of-the-box, and/or challenging existing ideas?

Budget

• Is the time frame, the costs, and the infrastructure reasonable?
• Is it safe to assume that the project will be finished on time and within budget?
