Data Processing Notice for AMEE Fellowship Applicants

Thank you for your interest in becoming a fellow of AMEE, an International Association for Health Professions Education. As part of your application process, we will be collecting and processing your personal data. This notice explains how we handle and use your personal data and your rights in relation to that data. 

  • Purpose of Processing: The data collected from you during the fellowship application process is used for the purpose of assessing your eligibility and suitability for the fellowship programme, facilitating the selection process, and maintaining records of the application process. 
  • Types of Data Collected: We may collect various types of information, including but not limited to your name, contact details, professional qualifications, academic and professional achievements, and any other information relevant to your application for the fellowship. 
  • Legal Basis for Processing: The processing of your personal data is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interests in selecting qualified individuals for our fellowship programme and for the performance of a contract to which you will be a party (i.e., the fellowship agreement, if your application is successful). 
  • Data Sharing and Transfer: Your data may be shared internally within AMEE for the purposes of the selection process. We may also need to share your data with external parties such as academic institutions or professional references to verify your qualifications and experience. We ensure that all data sharing complies with applicable data protection laws.

We have implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Your data will be stored for a duration in line with our data retention policies and applicable laws. 
  • Your Rights: You have various rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or transfer your data, as well as the right to withdraw your consent for processing where consent is the legal basis for processing your data.
