Membership T&Cs

Completion of the membership process signifies acceptance of the terms and conditions set out below relating to AMEE membership, benefits, and payment of fees.  

Membership and Payment

AMEE operates on a rolling membership year.  You will be invited to renew your membership one year after payment has been received. Renewal notices are issued 30 days prior to expiry, two weeks before the day of expiry and the week before expiry. A follow up communication is also sent after expiry if you have not renewed.   You will have one day’s grace to renew but after this your membership will expire  and you will no longer have access to any of the member benefits until you renew. 
 
AMEE membership begins on the date full payment is received and lasts one full calendar year.  
 
Access to AMEE member benefits as stated on the Membership pages is only granted once payment has been received in full. 

AMEE offers a limited number of complimentary memberships for individuals in extenuating circumstances which are considered on a case by case basis. As a recipient of a complimentary membership, you will be eligible for certain benefits as determined by AMEE, which may include access to select resources and online platforms. Please note, complimentary members will not have access to the following benefits:

  • Discounts on conference registration fees.
  • Eligibility to apply for awards, grants or committee positions offered by AMEE.

Membership fees may only be paid in GBP £ Sterling irrespective of your country of origin.  
 
Payment may be made by credit/debit card (VISA, Mastercard, AMEX) or by PayPalCredit card details are not stored by AMEE. 
 
AMEE reserves the right to change any membership benefits without giving prior notice.

Your membership fee covers one full year of Membership with AMEE. As your renewal date approaches AMEE will contact you with your renewal options.

Concession

AMEE has introduced a concession rate for membership which applies to new members only.  Individuals who meet the following criteria may apply to join at this rate: 

  • Up to 5 years post-graduation as a doctor or other health professional. 
  • Those undertaking a full-time Masters or full-time PhD or other Doctoral programme and who do not receive a salary but who may receive grant funding.  
  • Retired professionals.  

Proof of status of the above criteria will be required.

Required Evidence

AMEE may verify your current membership status with partner associations and societies before confirming your AMEE membership. 

AMEE may ask for, or require you to provide, evidence that you are a current student in full time study to confirm student membership eligibility. 

AMEE may ask for, or require you to provide, evidence that you are a resident of, and currently working in the Resource Constrained Country list  – which you will find above.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel your membership you must provide written notification of your intent to cancel within the first calendar month of joining/renewing. You will receive a full refund minus £25 administration costs. Any and all bank or credit card charges incurred by AMEE will not be refunded.  After the first month of renewal you may still cancel your membership but no refund will be issued. 

Code of Conduct

AMEE strives to create a warm and welcoming environment for all. Our code of conduct  applies to staff, trustees and other volunteers, service providers, AMEE members, and guests attending our events or accessing our services. 

Personal Details

All information you provide must be true and accurate at the point of application. In the event of a change of circumstances such as moving jobs, change of contact details or any other change that will affect your profile, a member should update their account profile through the account profile on the AMEE website or by emailing [email protected] 

Benefits

Members of AMEE will be able to access a range of benefits, each of which may have more specific terms and conditions separately. Member benefits are only accessible if membership is active. Member benefits change from time to time without prior notice.
