Fundraising progress tracker
The goal of the Professor Ronald M. Harden Scholarship Award is to advance the field of health professions education by recognising and supporting exceptional undergraduate or postgraduate students and trainees to engage in an innovative, feasible and scholarly project in education that would also focus on a multicultural or cross-cultural perspective of a specific topic.
Professor Ronald M Harden contributed enormously to the field of medical and health professions education through his teaching, scholarship and vision. In particular, Professor Harden encouraged the involvement of students in co-creating their learning agendas and their active participation in programmatic improvements at their schools. To honour and sustain his legacy, the Professor Ronald M. Harden Scholarship Fund has been established to provide the support for these scholarship awards.

Criteria for the Award
The Award will launch formally in 2024. To be eligible, applicants must be an AMEE individual member or from an AMEE member institution.
Applications are invited from a student or trainee to lead and support a project in medical or health professions education. Given the short time to conduct the work (6-12 months), the project should address an aspect of medical or health professions education that is innovative, feasible, measurable and scholarly. The project should suggest improvements to a current curricular offering or activity, or provide direction for something new.
There should be a cultural dimension to the project, or a description of how the impact of the work can extend beyond a local context, especially in different cultural settings.
Applications will open in 2024.
The Fund Steering Committee
The Professor Ronald M. Harden Scholarship fund is administered by an independent Steering Committee. They will appoint members to a Scholarship Award Selection Committee that will review the applications and select candidates to receive the award. The Award Selection Committee will receive and review the final project report from the awardees and arrange for the awardees to present their findings at an AMEE conference.
